Our family realized many years ago how fortunate we were to have a nice place to live, beds, food, and so much love for one another.  We also realized that so many kids do not have basic needs met nor the love and support to create a better life than what they were born in to.  We decided to act on our beliefs by helping kids find their way to a better life.  We started by volunteering at a shelter in Cincinnati, Ohio that was run by a very special lady named Sister Kateri.  We delivered food, clothes, games, and whatever else she needed to create a safe environment in our city where children could expect meals, help with homework, encouragement to stay in school and out of gangs, and lots of love and understanding.  

We expanded by inviting kids into our personal home in the summer time to swim, celebrate birthdays, have pizza parties and occasionally games.  We loved welcoming all into our home and the very best reward was the happiness we witnessed on their faces. We were now invested in these kids’ futures and continued to help them through high school and even into college with bus fare, books, etc.  It has been a blessing to watch some of these kids grow into happy, healthy well-adjusted adults.  We continue to hear success stories and are grateful we could impact their lives in a positive way.

Today we are a formal non profit – Stett 4 Kids.  My dream is to reach 1 million kids. To show them there is a better life.  The choices that they make now can impact their future in a BIG way.  Sometimes that one helping hand can make all the difference in a child’s life.  They are our future.
